Event Details

龔志成,人稱「阿龔」,是一位香港作曲家、表演者及音樂文化推廣人。他於1987年與英國藝術家彼得小話(Peter Suart)成立「盒子」樂隊(The Box),多年來的作品遊走於創意和實驗之間。

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kung Chi Shing is a composer, performer, and music activist.

As an artist, Kung is known particularly for his work in the music group ‘The Box’, which he founded with Peter Suart in 1987. His music focuses on experimentation with different formats, including classical, pop, improvisational music, and theatre art.

As a curator, since 2009, Kung started to organise free public concerts named ‘Street Music Series’ to discover and nurture music talents and to bring music to new audiences outside of established formats. Apart from free public concerts, he also started to provide music education to the community.

Now, being an Artistic Associate (Music) in West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, he aims to provide different platforms for established and emerging artists, and to organise exchange programs for international artists to share their experience with Hong Kong artists and audiences and vice versa.

In this talk, Kung will share his artistic and curatorial paths from The Box to Street Music and community concerts to West Kowloon, all the experiments of his musical journey.
