Ready for interesting encounters this Moon Festival?
Join Lap-Chee College to visit the Elderly in the neighbourhood

Dear Students, Staff, Alumni and Friends,

For the past six years, the HKU Volunteer Team has celebrated the Moon Festival with the elderly – all thanks to the support of alumni, staff, students and friends.

Lap-Chee College is pleased to continue this tradition. We will be visiting the elderly in the neighbourhood and presenting them with gift packs of HKU low-sugar mooncakes, oatmeal and low-sugar soy milk.

The round shape of mooncakes traditionally symbolizes unity, good fortune, and reunion. By volunteering and taking part in this gift-giving event, you will be spreading happiness to HKU's neighbours and their community. It is also a unique opportunity to experience and see another side of local Hong Kong culture.

You and your friends are welcome to join the Volunteer Team and to meet the elderly. To volunteer, please visit for registration.

For staff and alumni, you and your family members are welcome to join the Volunteer Team on September 23. You can also make a donation of HK$100 to support a gift. To volunteer/donate, please register at

Be ready for interesting encounters this Moon Festival!

Best Regards,
Professor MF Yuen
Master of Lap-Chee College
