Event Details

A two-day conference on the escalating issue of mental health policy and human rights

Who should attend: researchers, clinicians, legal practitioners and anyone who wants to better understand the legal and ethical implications of compulsory mental health treatment.

In Hong Kong, the Mental Health Ordinance (MHO) has been tasked with the purpose of ensuring adequate mental health care as well as protecting patients’ rights. However, implementation of the MHO has presented difficulties in practice, and variances in its implementation have sometimes led to legal dilemmas.

Join our interactive conference to learn from global experts about controversial issues surrounding compulsory mental health treatment.

Participate in a broad examination of legal and policy reform; better understand worldwide comparative perspectives; network with world-class speakers and panelists.

Seize this opportunity to bring about potential changes in mental healthcare policy in Hong Kong.
