Christopher Vajda has been the UK Judge at the Court of Justice of the European Union since October 2012. He graduated in law from Cambridge University (1977) and has a licence spéciale en droit européen from the Institut d'études européennes of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1978). He was called to the Bar of England and Wales (1979). He became a Queen's Counsel in 1997 and a Bencher of Gray's Inn in 2003. He was a Recorder of the Crown Court (2003-12). Prior to his appointment as a judge at the CJEU he specialized in EU law, in particular competition and regulatory work. He was also a contributor to 3rd to 6th editions of Bellamy and Child on European Community Law of Competition.

The Law Society of Hong Kong has approved 1 CPD point for this Lecture.
