Event Details

Background information:
"The Primer Course for Clinical Skills in Disaster" is now open for application. This one-day course will discuss basic concepts of disaster medicine, the principles of managing a disastrous incident, disaster triage procedures, basics of responding to a CBRN incident, and disaster medical care. Since its first launch in August 2015, this course has already trained nearly a total of 300 medical students (from both HKU and CUHK) and nursing students. You are cordially invited to join this course.

The course is hosted by Emergency Medicine Unit (The University of Hong Kong) and co-organized by A&E Training Centre (Hospital Authority). The course is organized for Hong Kong Academy of Medicine and Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute, and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Course delivery:
The course will be delivered by a team of physicians, health-care professionals and experts from the Emergency Medicine Unit of the University of Hong Kong and the Accident & Emergency Training Centre of Hospital Authority.

Target participant:
CUHK Medical students in clinical years, CUHK Nursing students, HKU Medical students in clinical years and HKU Nursing students

Registration is open from 16/02/2017 00:00(HKT) to 22/05/2017 23:00(HKT) and the event organizer will select the successful registrants after the deadline.

Enrollment will be an on-going process until all places are filled. Successful registration will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Successfully registered applicants will receive a "confirmation email" at their provided email addresses. Please be reminded that an "acknowledgement email" will be sent automatically by the HKU Event Management System whenever an application is submitted. However, the "acknowledgement email" does not guarantee a confirmed place.
