Being immersed in the Internet world, seemingly with a click or touch, we can acquire everything across the globe—knowledge, current issues, culture, arts, entertainment. Yet, are we having broadened horizons? Or, on the contrary, are we losing the mental space for contemplation? Acclaimed literary scholar, Prof. Lee Ou Fan claims himself an ‘cosmopolitan’ as he admires many different cultures. And he also emphasises the importance of his multiple roles—a scholar, a cultural man, and an amateur. Standing at the junction of different fields, Prof. Lee will share with us his inspiring insights about ‘crossing horizons’.
