The Center of Urban Planning and Environmental Management (CUPEM), the University of Hong Kong, in association with the IMRE Alumni Network Asia of the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, Germany, are pleased to announce and invite you to the "Euro-Asia Conference on Environment and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) - Perspectives from Business in Asia" to be held at the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, on 17 November 2006.

Aims and Scope:
Many Asian countries, particularly China and India, are undergoing rapid development and transformation. Industrialization of these countries has caused concerns over environmental and social issues. Business, especially multinational enterprises, are called upon to act
responsibly for the environment and the society. While European companies bring along their concept of CSR and environmental management with their investment in Asia, new perspectives are continuously generated by Asian companies with reference to local culture and environment. This 1-day conference aims to provide a platform for bringing together researchers and practitioners in the area of environment and CSR from both Europe and Asia regions to communicate and share their experience. The conference also aims to build communications networks with relevant organizations, initiate cooperation and establish a strong network on resource and environmental management in the Asia region.
